Lead mould for self-casting of standard diving lead
As a diver, who doesn't know the problem of losing a lead belt? A new one quickly costs more than €70. Why not make your own diving lead? Anglers are showing us how. We offer the matching lead casting mould. Diver's lead can now be cast yourself, depending on the filling of the lead casting mould and the composition of the lead, lead pieces of approx. 0.5 kg to 2.5 kg can be achieved. The market offers a range of different types of diving lead for divers, the best is still the simple lead piece, as a diving lead for mounting on the lead belt. The aluminium lead mould is hard to beat in terms of simplicity of use.

Instructions for casting dipped lead
Casting lead means handling extremely hot, liquid metal. For this reason, care must be taken to wear the appropriate protective equipment.
Metals such as lead, tin and zinc melt at lower temperatures than steel. The melting point of lead is 327.5°C. This temperature can be reached with a simple propane gas burner.
When melting lead, make sure that there is good ventilation and that no vapours are inhaled. Our lead mould is made of aluminium. The melting point of aluminium is 660°C. As it is possible to heat lead above the melting point of aluminium, care should be taken not to heat the lead above this melting point.
Lead has a high density and can store heat well, therefore the lead mould must be cooled down well, which can be done after the immersion lead has solidified in water. Be aware that water vapour and hot water splashes may occur. After cooling, the dipping lead can be shaped. This is best done on a wooden base by hitting the mould upside down on the wood, now more lead can be cast. After cooling, the dipping lead can be further processed.
