28g tube neoprene adhesive -contact adhesive
BINDALL a neoprene contact adhesive
is based on polychloroprene, has a particularly low odour and is also suitable for use in tropical climates. Bonding with BINDALL results in a permanently tough and waterproof bond.
Â
BINDALL is used for bonding a wide variety of plastic sheets to wood, metal and many other materials. Suitable for materials in any combination with plastics, wood, glass, cork, leather, ceramics, felt, polyurethane (PUR), rubber, foam and cellular rubber, also among themselves. Especially for edge banding and veneering of curves or also leather in vehicles.
Application:
Preparation of the adhesive: The adhesive Bindall is highly flammable, take measures against electrostatic charge and keep away from heat / sparks / open flame / hot surfaces. Ensure good ventilation!
Preparation of bonding surfaces:The bonding areas must be clean, free of grease and dry. For wood, a wood moisture content of 8-12% is recommended. Sand or blast other materials, e.g. metal or painted surfaces, with sandpaper beforehand. A rough substrate has a larger surface area, this is much better for any bonding. Difficult surfaces, e.g. plastic sheets or metal, should be roughened, cleaned with solvent and degreased before bonding.
When bonding rubber:
Follow the same procedure as for metal or painted surfaces. Due to its manufacture, rubber always has a repellent surface that must be removed, preferably by sanding. Degreasing the surface is also obligatory here.
For rough absorbent surfaces and leather:
Basically, roughen the substrate or leather like velvet. If a smooth non-absorbent surface and a rough very absorbent surface are to be bonded together, the rough very absorbent surface must be prepared first. A test must be carried out beforehand. Does the rough absorbent surface, e.g. the back of strong leather or foam rubber etc., almost completely absorb the adhesive?
Then it is necessary to first coat this surface thinly and evenly and let it dry for 10 minutes, as a primer. In this case, apply a thin and even coat of glue to BOTH parts in the second pass. If there is too little adhesive on the rough, very absorbent surface to form a cohesive surface when the parts are joined, the adhesive cannot hold here.
Apply adhesive: Coat both parts thinly and evenly, BINDALL is suitable for application by brush, spatula or mechanically by rolling.Full-surface bonding is recommended.

Apply adhesive: Coat both parts thinly and evenly, BINDALL is suitable for application by brush, spatula or mechanically by rolling.Full-surface bonding is recommended.
Allow the adhesive to flash off: After application, the surfaces to be bonded must be allowed to dry. The adhesive must be so dry that it does NOT stick to the tip of your finger, for example. Depending on the ambient temperature and humidity or the absorbency of the substrate or the thickness of the adhesive, this takes at least 3 to 10 minutes. A longer waiting time up to a maximum of 45 minutes is recommended.
Joining: After the surfaces have aired off (dried), join the two parts together (fit together exactly) - it is no longer possible to correct this. Therefore, practise the corresponding action(s) without glue beforehand, if necessary take another person to help. Always make sure that air is not trapped.
Welding: Now it is UNCONDITIONALLY necessary to apply pressure to the bonding. This is the only way to weld the two surfaces to which a cohesive layer has previously been applied. For large surfaces, e.g. plastic sheets and metal, this should be done with a press. For small surfaces, a rubber mallet with which the adhesive surface is tapped should be sufficient. Pressing pressure min. 5 kp/cm² (50 N/cm²). Pressing time approx. 5 seconds. Pressure is needed over the entire bonding surface, but this can be very short.
Strength: The bonded workpiece can be loaded immediately after pressing. Final strength is reached after three days at the earliest.
General:
-Processing temperature not below +15°C.
-Consumption: approx. 180-300 g/m² depending on the substrate when applied on both sides.
-The bond is temperature resistant from -10°C to approx. +70°C. With increasing age of the bonding, the temperature resistance increases.
-Viscosity approx. 1300 +/- 250 mPa.s at 20°C.
-Colour: brownish-transparent, only slightly discolouring.
-Shelf life: maximum one year after receipt of goods.
-Not suitable for polystyrene, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and Teflon.

Recommendation for the use of Bindall:
For large surfaces and flexible materials such as neoprene, do not bond the entire surface at once. Proceed piece by piece. Once the vials have come into contact, the bonded area can no longer be moved.
