The 300 bar technology significantly reduces the size of diving cylinders while providing a larger breathing gas supply. Additionally, increasing the volume-to-weight ratio reduces the amount of lead required. This can be calculated as follows: A 10-liter, 300 bar diving cylinder with a 178mm diameter has a dry weight of 14 kg, consisting of 1.86 liters of steel. Adding the internal volume of 10 liters, the total water displacement is 11.86 liters. According to Archimedes' principle, the diving cylinder loses 11.86 kg of weight in the water. This results in a remaining negative buoyancy of 2.14 kg per empty cylinder, which, when doubled in a twin set, reduces the diver's lead requirement by approximately 4 kg.
