Assembly of Cutting Ring Fittings on High-Pressure Pipes
Before assembly, check the functionality of the cutting ring and pre-assembly stub. Use a suitable gauge pin for testing.
Steel Pipe Fittings
Problem-free use of fittings can only be ensured in conjunction with high-quality pipes. For this purpose, we recommend seamless pipes made of ST37.4 material according to DIN 1630 and dimensional tolerances according to DIN 2391 with a maximum hardness of 75 HRB. Piping with pipes larger than 10 mm should be pre-assembled with a pre-assembly device or a hardened pre-assembly stub. When assembling cutting ring fittings, lubrication of the cutting ring and thread is important. When used in oxygen systems, oxygen-compatible lubricant must be used. When using standard screw stubs, care must be taken that each pipe end returns to the same inner cone in which the pre-assembly took place. For assembly of thin-walled high-pressure pipes: Here, a reinforcing sleeve must be attached to the pipe end before mounting the cutting rings to prevent constriction of the high-pressure pipe in the area of the cutting ring.
Note on Torques for Screw Connections:
The specified tightening torques are approximate values that may vary depending on the material and tolerance of the components used, the pneumatic fittings. Tapered threaded connections require additional sealing aid. (Teflon tape, thread sealant, Loctite). With metallic sealing (Form B), the sealing surface must be clean and flat, which is not always guaranteed.
