The low-pressure cuff has the task of supplying the diver with breathing air as required, just like the single-breath membrane in other regulators. There is a small sintered filter inside. This sintered filter becomes clogged with rust particles when using unclean air. This then requires the low-pressure cuff to be replaced, suitable for the Jetstream and Xstream regulators from Poseidon.

Low pressure cuff second stage Jetstream or Xstream

The low-pressure cuff that works as a single-breathing membrane in the Jetstream and Xstream regulators is installed inside the low-pressure valve, shown in picture two. Special tools for regulators are required to replace this cuff. This membrane must always be replaced if it is damaged or if the sintered filter inside is contaminated by foreign bodies, e.g. rust particles from the scuba tank.

Specialist knowledge is required for the maintenance and repair of regulators and may only be carried out by qualified persons.
